The area of Karnali Province is 27,984 square kilometers (10,805 sq mi). This makes it the largest province in Nepal, covering approximately 21.6% of the country’s total area. Karnali Province is located in the mid-western part of Nepal and shares borders with the Tibet Autonomous Region of China to the north, Gandaki Province to the east, Sudurpashchim Province to the west, and Lumbini Province to the south. The province is divided into ten districts, which are further divided into municipalities or rural municipalities. The capital and largest city of Karnali Province is Birendranagar.
