Fe + CuSO4 → FeSO4 + Cu

As a result, the blue color of the copper sulphate solution fades, and the iron nail becomes brownish due to the deposition of iron sulphate on its surface. Iron sulphate is greenish-blue in color, which is why the color of the solution changes to green.
